First Annual Cinco De Mayo On the Square

ALAS has joined forces with the City of Mount Pleasant to bring you the First Annual Cinco de Mayo on the Square. We will have all 4 streets surrounding the court house dedicated to the event. Together, we want to give Northeast Texas a chance to experience a Cinco de Mayo celebration like no other. We have set out to accomplish two things: Celebrate the diversity within our great city, and raise funds to help students in our community through the Northeast Texas Community College Scholarship Foundation.

We will have a day filled with fun activities aimed at bringing families out and uniting the community in a great cause. Here is a list of some of the events that will be going on throughout the day.

• 5K Run in the morning, organized by NTCC and RunTime Racing Services
• Soccer Tournament with a $1,000 Cash Prize for the tournament Championship
• Celebration on the Square starting at 2:00 PM and ending at Midnight with:
  • Great local, authentic Mexican food
  • Booths from our local businesses
  • Three live DJ’s and popular bands with great music for all ages
  • Talent Show with individual acts
  • Miss Cinco de Mayo for High School Seniors
  • Miss Chiquitita for all girls ages 4 to 6
  • A live Mariachi Band
  • and a mucho, mucho más!
